Summer of Learning Program Partner – There with Care

We will be donating the baby hats to There with Care, bay area chapter. This is a wonderful non profit organization helping low income families with critically ill children and premature babies. 

There with Care works with social workers at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital who directly interact with families in need and provide them with care packages for the child and the family upon discharge from the hospital.

Your lovely gift will go as a part of the baby care package. Learn more about the Baby Essentials Program.

There with Care also has chapters in Boulder and Denver. The organization accepts not just baby items but all sorts of in kind donations that they send in the family care package. So if you are looking for a great charity to donate baby items, adult items, household items, electronics in working condition, this is a great cause to support!

Give

Once you have created the cute little hat(s), pack them in the mailing envelope and drop it in any USPS mailbox near you. 

If you like, you can add a note to each item for the family receiving the hat. Please keep the notes kind and compassionate. Here are some message guidelines from There with Care –

• Made with care/love

• With love and hugs

• Thinking of you

• Sending you care

• We care

 Please avoid using phrases such as – wishing you well, be happy, keep smiling since the future of these children will remain uncertain. It will be very comforting for the families to know that someone somewhere is thinking of them and cares for them.

Get

At the end of your project you would have learnt the crochet basics and honed your art of giving! Since all family interactions happen through the social workers, There with Care will be sending out gratitude notes for you to keep. We will soon be launching the venture with more fun learning projects you can continue participating in.
